I fell in love with Gloria Steinem (again) this weekend.
No, I’m not about to go on what some of you may call a “feminist rant” – I’ll save that for another time.
Rather, I want to express my gratitude to a woman who has made it possible not only for me to run my own business, but also for a website like The Beauty Bean, which recognizes and celebrates your Real Beauty and that of other notable women while simultaneously bringing you the latest in the world of beauty, fitness and wellness because it’s fun, not because you “need” it (to get a man, of course), to even exist.
And for that, I am extraordinarily humbled and grateful.
Anyway… if you want to tap into your inner feminist (I know she’s in there) or just be amazed by womanhood, watch PBS’s MAKERS: Women Who Make America and HBO’s Gloria: In Her Own Words. I’ve watched both in the last week and, well, was reminded both of why I do what I do and why I am able to do what I do.
So, thank you, Gloria Steinem.
