She appears on our televisions five days a week as a host on E! News, where looking good is part of the job description – and, if that doesn’t put pressure on your physical appearance, we’re not sure what does. Yet this TV personality, actress, Emmy award winning journalist and mom seems to do it all, and look amazing always, with ease. So, how does this mother of two who was recently named one of the top ten up-and-coming broadcasters by The Los Angeles Times stay so seemingly grounded (and looking good!)? We wanted to know too.
We sat down with Catt Sadler and asked her to weigh in on real beauty.
What do you think makes someone beautiful?
Someone’s spirit makes them beautiful. The energy they exude, their attempt at grace, their offerings to the world.
How do you deal with the pressure for body perfection in our culture?
I was fortunate to inherit some pretty good genes; so, for me, moderation has always been the key. But how to obtain a healthy body and healthy weight isn’t life’s eternal mystery. It’s simple. You eat donuts and pizza every day and your jeans aren’t going to button. You eat a balanced diet and indulge only on occasion, your heart will be happy and your waistline will love you too.
If you could give your younger self advice about beauty, what would it be?
Sunscreen. Sunscreen. And don’t forget the Sunscreen.
What is your one, can’t-live-without-it beauty product?
Kiehl’s Crème de Corps. My skin is naturally dry. I lather this ultra rich moisturizer all over my body after every shower. It takes my skin from scaly and rough to silky and smooth. It’s also fragrance free, so I use it on my two young sons as well!
