With a television and film career that ranges from soap operas (like The Bold and the Beautiful) to feature films (like Minkow) and everything in between (like Desperate Housewives, Las Vegas and Kitchen Confidential), Ragan Brooks is a rising Hollywood star – and a Real Beauty. The self described jeans and T-shirt girl can currently be seen in the HBO/Cinemax original series, Chemistry, or, ya know, volunteering the Animal Advocates Alliance and Home For Life, in St Croix Valley, Wisconsin, where she’s donated her time since 2009. Because she’s that kinda Real Beauty.

Ragan Brooks: On Real Beauty

I think beauty is brains and heart. What you DO is what makes you beautiful.

I feel most beautiful when… I’ve accomplished one of my goals.

Need Help Achieving Your Goals? Here’s How to Get What you Want, Easily!

I deal with the pressure for body “perfection” by… being good to myself and remembering that health is what is most important.

My 3 cannot-live-without-them beauty products are… Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer, Chapstick and Nivea Body Lotion.

My pre-event routine consists of… tunes, a good meal and a mental run down of what the event is for and who I will be seeing and talking to and thanking.

My ideal spa day would include… An Olympic spa day with my bestie where we get scrubbed within a inch of our lives, nap on the warmed floor and grab a Korean lunch after.

The women I most admire are… My mom first. Leaders, risk takers and pioneers. Woman who exude a confidence and make things happen.

If I could give young women a piece of advice, it would be… Stay true to your roots and live a good, honest life from the inside out. Often less is more, and don’t waste time! Get going on the things you want to accomplish!

My dreams for the future are… BIG!!!

The one lesson I try to remind myself of is to… Be thankful everyday. Lead with Gratitude.

I wish more women would… Support each other and encourage one another’s successes.
