No matter your thoughts on Playboy, Charlie Sheen or reality TV, Denise Richards is undeniably a woman of valor at heart. As an actress and single mother she knows how to poke fun at herself, when to put her pride to the side and how to always put her daughters first. She is adventurous, optimistic, funny and kind. And her beauty, well, that’s undeniable too.
We sat down with Denise Richards and asked her to weigh in on Real Beauty.
What do you think makes someone beautiful?
I always think anyone that’s confident. That’s, to me, more beautiful than anything. I feel more confident now than I did in my 20s and I feel better about myself. I think confidence is beautiful.
When do you feel most beautiful?
I would have to say when my girls tell me. They definitely tell me when they think I look beautiful or pretty – and when I don’t! They’re very vocal and very honest.
How do you deal with the pressure for body perfection in our culture?
It is what it is. I’m actually very blessed that my family is thin, although that doesn’t keep everything firm. And I work hard at it by keeping my body fit.
If you could give your younger self, or your daughters, advice about beauty, what would it be?
Well, I would tell them what I was always told: wear sunscreen, drink lots of water and don’t drink and smoke.
What is your one, can’t-live-without-it beauty product?
Dr. Lanzer’s products! That’s all I use.
Who is your beauty role model?
I’ve always loved Cameron Diaz. I love that she takes risks for fashion.
