Make This DIY Pumpkin Face Mask
Loaded with Vitamin C (an antioxidant), beta-Carotene (a type of Vitamin A known to reduce inflammation and bacteria), and alpha-hydroxy acids (a mild exfoliator that promotes cell turnover), pumpkins pack a potent punch. And, because the Vitamin C, beta-Carotene, and alpha-hydroxy acids are all naturally occurring in this seasonal (and sensational) squash, the skincare benefits are even better than those obtained via their synthetic counterparts.
Harvest pumpkin’s amazing skin-care effects year-round for reduced wrinkles, evened skin tone, and softer skin with this DIY Pumpkin Face Mask recipe.
DIY Pumpkin Face Mask Recipe
2 tsp canned pumpkin
1/2 tsp raw honey
1/4 tsp whole milk
1/4 tsp heavy whipping cream (optional)
1/4 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional)
Combine the pumpkin, honey (a regenerative antiseptic that hydrates) and milk (an effective exfoliant) in a small bowl.
If you have dry skin, add heavy whipping cream (to moisturize and further exfoliate). If you’re more oily, add ¼ teaspoon apple cider (to promote skin circulation and regulate pH balance).
Apply to face, avoiding the eye area. Rinse with warm water after 10-20 minutes. Follow with moisturizer.
