Raspberry Facial Recipe: Chemical Peel Results, Naturally
When your skin needs a serious scrub down but you don’t want to pull out the big guns and get a chemical peel, try this antioxidant-rich raspberry facial instead.
It’s strong enough to reveal your brightest, most radiant complexion (the acids in the raspberries and lemon juice help to break down all those dead, dull skin cells), packed with antioxidants (from the raspberries and turmeric), and relies on manual exfoliation too (with the sugar). All that said, it’s still super-gentle (as most DIY recipes are!) and unlike with many chemical peels done in doctors’ offices, you can rest assured you won’t look like a shedding snake!
You can use this raspberry facial recipe up to once a week to reveal a brighter complexion both immediately and cumulatively.
DIY Raspberry Facial Recipe
3 Raspberries, muddled
1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
1 pinch Turmeric
1 tsp raw honey, optional
1 tbsp white sugar
Mix the raspberries, lemon juice, and turmeric until smooth and well combined. Add the honey if your skin is breaking out or very dry since it is both antibacterial and a humectant.
Use pastry brush or your fingers to apply the mixture to your skin in a thin, even layer, avoiding your eye area.
Let the mask sit for 10 minutes. It’s normal for your skin to feel a bit tingly but if you feel any discomfort, rinse it off immediately.
After 10 minutes, use warm water and the sugar to gently scrub your skin. Rinse with warm water, pat dry, and follow with your favorite moisturizer.
