Yup, you read that title right…
A recent peer-reviewed study out of Indiana University on – get this – coregasms (yes, that’s really what the researchers behind this study are calling orgasms that result from exercise, primarily abdominal exercises) found that a yet-to-be-determined number of women are experiencing sexual satisfaction at the gym, without any – uh – additional stimulation.
While the study was not able to determine just how common these core-orgasms are (this is, after all, a study that requires women to self-disclose), the researchers did state that it took only took them 5 weeks to recruit the 370 women included in the study, seeming to imply that this isn’t exactly a once in a lifetime occurrence. Rather, approximately 40% of women who had experienced these exercise induced orgasms had done so on more than 10 occasions!
So, how do you become one of these coregasm experiencing exercisers? According to researchers (again, we emphasize, this is a peer-reviewed, well-respected study), “the most common exercises associated with exercise-induced orgasm were abdominal exercises, climbing poles or ropes, biking/spinning and weight lifting.” The majority of women (51.4%) in this study reported experiencing the sweaty sexual satisfaction during core abdominal muscles (hence the name coregasm), more specifically while using the “captain’s chair,” where you rest your arms in padded arm rests and support your back while your legs to hang free as you lift your knees toward your chest. Other moves to try at the gym: weight lifting, yoga, bicycling, running, walking and hiking.
Aye, aye captain!
Gives you another reason to hit the gym, huh?
Not one of the lucky ones? Exercise is already known to significantly benefit your sex life, see how here!
