2 Healthy (Well, Healthier) Cocktail Recipes

Heading to drinks with the girls is all fun and games until you realize you’ve just downed the equivalent of a processed candy bar (or 5) in liquid form.  Thankfully, though, with the help of liquid chef Kim Haasarud (she’s a founder of Liquid Architecture and author of 101 Mojitos & Other Muddled Drinks) you can whip up these healthy (okay, healthier) cocktails for a happy hour that can remain nothing short of happy, well-after the last sip has been taken.

Black & Blue Mojito

1.5 oz 10 Cane rum
1 oz lime juice
3 blackberries
10 blueberries
10 mint leaves
Splash of club soda
Sweetener, to taste

In a tall collins glass, muddle the berries and mint with the lime juice and sweetener.  Add the rum. Top with crushed ice and stir well. Garnish with mint sprig and berry.

Strawberry Smash

1.5 oz SKYY Infusions Dragonfruit
4 lemon quarters
1 oz cranberry juice
2 strawberries
Sweetener, to taste

How to make iced tea healthier!

In a mixing glass, muddle the strawberries with the lemon quarters, cranberry juice and sweetener. Top with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with strawberry and basil.
