Healthy Salad Recipe: Detoxifying Tomato Basil Salad

As much as we love our “cheat days,” boozy brunches, weekend benders, or Pizza-and-Suits nights –  pick your poison! – most of the time they leave us feeling the effects of too much, well, everything.

Hey, we’re not ones for guilt. ENJOY IT. But when you need a quick and easy recipe to help cleanse, try this  detoxifying salad recipe.

Cleansing Tomato Basil Salad

5 tomatoes, cut into wedges
1 large handful of basil leaves, chopped
1/8 spanish onion, diced
1 lemon wedge
dash of olive oil
dash of balsamic vinegar
pinch of salt and pepper

In a large bowl, toss together tomatoes, chopped basil, and onion. Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon wedge, add a dash of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

Added bonus: the tomatoes are packed with anti-aging and sun-protecting lycopene too!
