Reboot With This Delicious Healthy Pear Protein Smoothie Recipe
Getting back on track after an indulgent meal can be tough. Those leftovers are oh, so tempting (we know!) and while we certainly support your stuffing yourselves with stuffing (and other holiday favorites) in the days immediately following your festive feast (to prevent waste, if nothing else), when the leftovers run dry (or just pass their prime) it’s important to get back on your usually healthy track.
Easier said than done, we know. But rather than throwing all health to the curb, use the time between indulgences to treat your body to healthy foods. Trust us: your body will thank you!
One easy way to stay on track is to start your day with a wholesome breakfast. We know you’re in a rush and that a granola bar or bowl of Lucky Charms is easy, but rather than setting you up for the day ahead, they will instead set your blood sugar on a rollercoaster (with your mood and energy level dragging right behind). Whip up this juice, though, and you’ll be ready for anything the day throws your way (especially since it’s rich in vegan sources of protein, belly-regulating pears and pancreas-soothing cinnamon).
Pear Protein Smoothie
5 fresh pears, cut into quarters
2 cups Almond Milk
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp agave
2 tbsp hulled hemp seeds
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp mesquite pod meal
1 pinch sea salt
Blends all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth. If desired, blend until it starts to warm. Serve immediately.
