Healthy Sesame Fried Rice Recipe

Next time you’re in a bind for a quick, easy, delicious, and cheap dinner, whip up this brown rice and lima bean sesame fried rice. 

We think it’s tastier than your run-of-the-mill fried rice – and it’s most definitely WAY healthier: packed with protein, fiber, and healthy fats.

Vegan + Gluten-Free Sesame Fried Rice

2 cups Brown Rice
2 cups Frozen Lima Beans
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
2 Tbsp Tamari (gluten-free soy sauce)
4 Tbsp Gomasio (or 2 Tbsp Sesame Seeds + 1 Tbsp Seaweed Flakes + 1 tsp Pink Sea Salt)

Cook the brown rice according to package instructions.

Meanwhile, heat the frozen lime beans on the stove top in a few tablespoons of water until hot.

In a sauté pan, hear the olive oil over medium heat. Add the brown rice and lima beans and stir until fragrant and just beginning to brown. Add the Tamari (it will likely smoke, don’t worry!) and stir for 30 seconds before adding the Gomasio (or sesame seeds, seaweed flakes, and salt). Stir to mix before removing from heat and serving your Sesame Fried Rice immediately.

Serve on its own or with our Ginger Soy Glazed Salmon.
