Be Like Beyonce: Drink Watermelon Water
If you’ve been chugging coconut water post-exercises thinking it’s the best recovery drink out there, well, you may want to reconsider – and give watermelon water a go!
Don’t get us wrong. Coconut water (especially our favorite coconut water!) is damn good for you. It’s packed with electrolytes (514mg of potassium!) and even 2 grams of protein making it a wonderful post-workout drink. (It’s WAY better for you than typical packaged sports drinks, if that weren’t clear.)
While coconut water and WTRMLN WTR are pretty similar with regard to their nutritional values, cold-pressed watermelon water is not only packed with potassium (740mg to be exact), it’s also loaded with 540 mg of L-Citrulline (for heart health, improved circulation, and reduced muscle-soreness if consumed before and after a workout!) and brimming with the antioxidant lycopene, which can help protect cells from damage (making watermelon water especially great for those sun-filled outdoor workouts!).
Bottom line: it’s pretty much like Gatorade on crack. But healthier. Ugh. Whatever. You know what we mean.
Plus, you’ll be just a bit more like Beyonce and, well, who doesn’t want that?!
