Dry Hair? 6 Hair Products To Ensure No One Knows

Hair Products For Dry Hair

By Alix Turoff

Sometimes our hair really seems to have a mind of its own.

One day it dries wavy, the next day straight. Sometimes we have cowlicks, other times we don’t. And the texture? Well, it ranges from dry, to greasy to just right, without any rhyme or reason.

The change in seasons certainly confuses the situation even more.

As temperatures drop, static soars, breakage increases and our hair that dried one way all summer long is suddenly a whole other mane.  And while weather (especially humidity) has a lot to do with how our hair looks, the products we use can make all the difference. Here are some of our favorite hair care products that will help you perfectly tame those tresses of yours all year long.

6 Hair Products To Help You Defy The Dryness

Hydrating Shampoo + Conditioner. The foundation of any good hair day is a great shampoo and conditioner. Got 2b’s Oil-licious Opulent Smooth Shampoo ($6.29) and Golden Shimmer Conditioner ($6.29) is formulated with argan oil, white grape seed oil and marula oil, for anti-frizz shine ideal for any hair type. Big plus: the shampoo and conditioner have a sweet, light smell and look like liquid gold as it comes out of the bottle!

Leave-In Conditioner. You know how much we love 2-in-1 products, but 12-in-1?! Sold! Rusk’s W8less Multi 12 in 1 Miracle Treatment ($6.50) is just that: a hair miracle. Perfect for all hair types, this leave-in-treatment is lightweight and is perfect for keeping frizz away and adding shine while adding body at the same time. Plus, this miracle treatment also detangles, conditions and moisturizes, to repair dry and damaged hair. It can be used with hot tools to provide heat protection and will also extend the life of hair color and chemical processes.

Styling Serum. Agave is more than just a margarita ingredient. The Agave Healing Oil Treatment ($40) is a plant-based extract that smoothes and seals and adds shine to locks. It’s lightweight and non-greasy and a small amount goes a long way. Just add a dime sized amount to damp or dry hair and blow dry and style as usual. The color-restoring sugars of the agave plant restore dry and frizzy hair and build strength while brightening color and protecting ends. The oil treatment is also blended with natural botanicals like coconut, vanilla, sunflower and safflower oils blended with madagascar baobab seed oil to lock in moisture.

Detangling Brush. Brushing your hair while it’s wet can be extremely damaging to the hair shaft. The Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash ($16), the “water loving detangling hairbrush,” though, is the first upright, non-slip hairbrush, specially designed for water. Its gentle, short and rounded bristles glides right through the hair, easily getting rid of tangles, even in the shower!

CC Hair Cream. You’ve heard a ton about BB creams and CC creams for your skin, but have you heard of CC creams for your hair? Like you would apply a CC cream to your skin before your makeup, apply Alterna’s Caviar CC Cream for Hair 10-in-1 Complete Correction ($25) before blow drying to create the perfect protecting and correcting foundation for all your heat styling torture. And when you’re done: finish with a bit after heat styling as well to seal in your style and moisturize, all without weighing the hair down or making it look stringy!

Hair Elastics. For those days when a blow out just isn’t in the cards, reach for one of Goody’s Ouchless Girls Neon Leopard Hair Elastics. We’ve long been fans of Goody’s metal-free hair elastics for ages (they’re snag free and don’t break our hair!) but now that they’ve rolled out a new product line filled with funky colors and patterns, we’re more obsessed than ever! These neon leopard hair elastics are perfect not only in your hair, but also on your wrist as a bracelet!
