DIY The Perfect Ballerina Bun
Give Marc Jacobs a runway and he’s sure to impress. (Anyone remember the Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 runway show – if you can even call it a “runway” show – when models appeared on a moving carousel?) Well, this year was no exception.
At Paris Fashion Week, Marc Jacobs outdid himself again with models at the Louis Vuitton Fall 2012 show emerging from a full-sized train, trailed by porters carrying their (very glamorous) bags. And although the models all wore hats, the chic top-knots concealed on the runway were nevertheless noteworthy (even if concealed).
Fashioned by Redken Creative Consultant, Guido, the 1920s inspired sleek buns showed us not only a practical way to style your tresses under hats, but also a great way to ensure your strands still look stylish once the hat comes off.
How To DIY Louis Vuitton’s Perfect Ballerina Bun
Apply Extreme Anti-Snap to damp hair and blow-dry, concentrating on the hairline to make it very clean, using a flat boar bristle brush.
Pull hair up into a high ponytail, secure with an elastic, and spray with Fashion Work 12 to clean up the hairline and any flyaway’s.
Twist into a small knot and cover with a small hairnet.
Finish with more Fashion Work 12.
