Nominated for her role in New Girl at the 2014 Golden Globes, Zooey Deschanel rocked a sophisticated chignon created by hair stylist, Shelley Brien for Pantene.

How To DIY Zooey Deschanel’s Floral Chignon (Golden Globes 2014)

Dry It. According to Shelley, “Everything starts with a good blow dry.” Begin by drying hair with a large round brush using Pantene’s Heat Protection Spray until hair is fully dry.

Curl It. When hair is dry, set hair with a large barrel curling iron to create voluminous waves.

Spray It. Keep the curl by applying a light hairspray, like Pantene Volume Touchable Hairspray, so it brushes out nicely, but maintains the wave.

Tease It. To create the volume for the updo, slightly back-comb/tease the hair at the crown.

Tie It. Gently pull the hair to the sides into a ponytail and secure with an elastic.

Chignon It. Loosely wrap the hair around band to create a bun and secure with bobby pins.

Set It. Finish the look with a mist of Pantene Flexible Hold Hairspray and you have a beautiful chignon ready for the Red Carpet.

Accessorize It. Add a floral pin to the top of the bun for flirty flare.
