DIY Modern, Loose, Low Ponytails
Jil Sander is back at the helm of her eponymous line and – 8 years later – exudes modernity in Milan. Accompanying her women’s wear collection: a rich but simple low ponytail.
Redken Creative Consultant, Guido, who created the hairstyle for Jil Sander’s spring/summer 2013 show, went for a pure, pristine and serene hairstyle designed to radiate a sense of “modern sensibility, but it’s still sexy at the same time.”
The result: a chic, loose ponytail that works with any below-the-shoulder hair length, at any time of the year.
Sick of wearing your hair down but think ponytails should stay in stables (or on Stairmasters)? As Guido says, “this pony’s a bit more styled than your usual tight low pony, as dropping the elastic down gives it more softness and a different feel. It’s also fun to see super straight hair in a way that sort of makes it new again.”
While Jil Sander showed these low, loose, modern ponytails for spring/summer 2013, we won’t be waiting until spring. Rather, paired with leather and lace, turtlenecks and tights, low loose ponytails seem like the ideal way to keep static at bay – and, more importantly, to extend our blowouts Just. One. More. Day. (With some dry shampoo, of course.)
