Cut Your Hair, Save The World + Feel Like A Celeb!
I often joke that the beauty industry may not be saving lives – but sometimes it does just that.
What can I say, I have my master’s in human rights, have worked in East Africa, and had dreams of charging the UN in the name of women’s rights – and while I think TheBeautyBean.com does a lot to empower women and promote positive body image, I’m acutely aware of the limits lipstick has in changing the world.
Where lipstick has limits, though, your hair is a whole other story.
Well, if you PonyUp anyway!
Turns out, you can both get in on the latest hair trends (shoulder-length bobs, pixie cuts and more!) and help to improve the quality of life for women fighting cancer, all at the same time.
Oh, and you can have a celebrity stylist cut your new ‘do too!
Join Pantene for the second annual National Donate Your Hair Day on September 7, 2013 as they help you to grow long, strong, beautiful hair and to turn your donated hair cut into free, real-hair wigs for women with cancer, respectively. This unifying day of giving encourages people to cut and donate their healthy hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program to make free real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments To date, Pantene has donated 28,000 free real-hair wigs to the American Cancer Society’s wig banks, which distribute wigs to cancer patients across the country – and now you can help too!
Even better: you can enter to win a free cut + style with a Pantene celebrity stylist on September 7th!
You and a friend will be chauffeured to the second annual National Donate Your Hair Day on September 7, 2013 where you’ll join me in New York City for the royal treatment including a haircut by a celebrity stylist, makeup touchups for you and a friend by COVERGIRL and your own red carpet moment (complete with photographers documenting your transformation)!
Winner must live in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut, have at least 8 inches of chemical/bleach/dye-free hair to donate and have less than 5% gray. For all details, click here.
Not able to enter? On National Donate You Hair Day, Pantene is encouraging women across the country to #PonyUp and donate their ponytails by pledging to donate next year or by planning a donation cutting event for friends and family. Even something as simple as Tweeting @Pantene using #BeautifulLengths will help support the cause.
