If Monday Was Rough, This Is How To Find Your Dream Job
By Kim Phillips
Already feeling the Sunday blues? Dreading going back to work on Monday? Here’s how to find your dream job and never hate Mondays again…
What would you want to do every day if money weren’t an object? What excites you and makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning? If you haven’t (yet) found a career that affords you the opportunity to pursue your passions and find financial bliss, get ready blaze your own trail, beauty!
6 Steps To Finding Your Dream Job
1. What are your likes/dislikes?
Be clear on your values, goals, motives, likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses. Every career requires a few less than desirable responsibilities, so don’t fool yourself into thinking you’ll find a career that is exactly what you want it to be at all times, but get very clear on what responsibilities are worth it and what makes you want to hit snooze. Indefinitely.
2. What fires you up and stirs your soul?
There is no room for gray here. What do you love? What are you attracted to? What makes you want to jump up and dance, call your best friend and smile ear to ear? That is something you should be doing. Find what you love and you’ll never “work” a day in your life.
3. Take money out of the equation.
Make a list of the top 5 things you would do without a salary and love. Forget about the money and answer this: what fires you up? What you adore doing? What experiences are you grateful for? This is the key to making a living doing what you love! Focus what you love in order to draw more of those experiences and feelings into your life.
Do something every day that brings you one step closer to reaching your goals. No step is too small or insignificant.
5. Be open.
You never know what can happen next. Your next big client could be sitting next to you right now or your next big job offer could be a day away. Stay open to change and growth and you’ll allow opportunity to show up.
6. Practice patience.
On the journey to your dream career (whether it’s landing a new job, going back to school or starting a new biz), remember that this is a process that takes time and commitment. Don’t give up. You deserve the job of your dreams so, be the best version of yourself you can be and blaze your trail! We are all waiting to see your career beauty shine through!
