So, how do you start the day to set yourself up for success? You nail down a killer morning routine – and stick with it.

The Best Morning Routine For A Stress-Free Day

Have A Set Bed-Time. Your morning routine begins before you go to sleep. Get to sleep at a consistent time and you will help your body’s internal clock, making getting out of bed in the morning wayyyyy easier.

Wake Up At The Same Time (Mostly!) Every Morning. Sure, there will be the occasional exception, but just as a consistent bedtime will help regulate your internal clock, so too will a consistent wake up time. We know it’s hard, but it’s worth it.

Wake Up With Ample Time. There’s nothing worse that starting the day rushed. Buffer in an extra 10-20 minutes every morning so even if the dog won’t pee, the kids won’t eat, you just can’t figure out what you want to wear, you’re covered!

Meditate. You think you need the extra 20 minutes of sleep, but those 20 minutes spent meditating are far more restful for your brain and body – and allow you to start the day with a grounding practice that will carry you thru the day ahead. Unsure where to start? Click here.

Practice Gratitude. This may be a part of your meditation – or it may be separate from it. The practice of thinking about something you’re grateful for, though, before worrying about what you don’t have or need to do, will change the way you approach your whole day ahead.

Eat Breakfast. Start the day by feeding your body with food that nourishes your body and brain. It will help ensure your energy is high and consistent, will prevent sugar cravings (and crashes!) later on, and is more likely to ensure you make consistently healthy food choices throughout the day.

Exercise. No need to fit in an hour yoga class, but just a few jumping jacks or stretches will energize you more than that third cup of coffee ever will.

Smile. You’re alive, well, and about to have an epic day!
