Want newsworthy nails? Well, one way to get ‘em is with the news.

Literally.

Backstage at London Fashion, Week Katie Hughes, butter LONDON Global Colour Ambassador, created “newspaper chic nails” for the Louise Gray Fall/Winter 2013 runway show.

Whether you’re an avid newspaper reader or just looking for a new way to add a bit of urban grunge to your usual “uptown” manicure, try this newspaper print manicure technique to add texture, depth and a bit of downtown edge to pale peach polish.

How To DIY Newspaper Print Nail Art

Apply butter LONDON Nail Foundation as a base coat.

Paint nails with 2 coats of butter LONDON Kerfuffle and let completely dry.

Once dry, dip nails in rubbing alcohol and press newspaper onto the nail, pressing the newspaper onto the nail in different directions in order to create a 3D look.

Dab butter LONDON Cheeky Chops onto random spots of the nail for a more urban effect.

Finish with butter LONDON Hardwear top coat.
