Embellished Manicures: How To DIY 3-D Nail Art

How To Take Nail Art 3-D

Bored with your usual manicure? Or love nail art but want to take it to the next level?

Embellish your next DIY manicure a la the models at the Libertine Spring/Summer 2014 runway show at New York Fashion Week.

Created by butter LONDON Global Colour Ambassador Katie Jane Hughes to reflect the clothes, which were “a collage of colors, fabrics and textures with many embellishments,” the manicures were embellished with pom-poms, studs, and stones for a similarly multidimensional effect.

How To DIY 3-D Embellished Nail Art

Step 1: Apply base coat and let dry.

Step 2: Apply 1 coat of butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Union Jack Black.

Step 3: Tear holographic foil into small pieces and, using tweezers, randomly apply several colors to the still damp polish.

Step 4: Apply crystals and studs randomly to the nails. (Add a coat of clear nail polish, if needed, to adhere.)

Step 5: Adhere a small red pom-pom on one accent nail on each hand.

Step 6: Finish with top coat.

Step 7 (optional): Apply 3 small red crystals to create hand-art by adhering them with eyelash glue along the middle finger.
