Rhinestones Turn Nude Nails Into Nail Art

If you’re going to go nude, why not embellish neutral manicures with rhinestone nail art – if for no other reason than, well, rhinestones make everything better (AMIRIGHT?!)

Inspired by  “fireflies in a forest of birch trees” as well as “the idea that the end of something is always the beginning of something else” Giovanna Randall’s collection for HONOR Spring/Summer 2014 was all about whimsical, fairytale beauty.

What we liked best, though: manicure maven Deborah Lippmann’s sparkling nail art.

In partnership with Beauty.com, Deborah Lippmann created rhinestone-embellished manicures that added a pyramid of sparkle to a neutral nail – and, better yet, she shared with us how to DIY the look at home!

How To DIY Rhinestone Nail Art

Step 1: Start with a mid-length nail, filed to a point

Step 2: Prep nails with a base coat.

Step 3: Paint entire nail with two coats of Deborah Lippmann’s La Vie En Rose (available on Beauty.com in Spring 2014) or layer Deborah Lippmann’s Prelude To A Kiss topped with Diamonds And Pearls to get the look now. Make sure to wait two minutes between coats.

Step 4: Apply Deborah Lippmann’s Gel Lab Top Coat.

Step 5: While top coat is still wet, place 6 small rhinestones at the base to create a pyramid shape. Start with 3 rhinestones at the base, closest to the cuticle, to create the base of the pyramid, with the point moving up towards the center of the nail.
