Soft nudes and pretty pastels have been ruling the red carpets lately (on Kerry Washington, Sofia Vergara and Hailee Steinfeld, just to name a few).

Forever classic and chic, neutral nail polishes are always in style. A French manicure, however, often feels anything but on trend.

To give the classic French manicure a modern twist, try this reverse French half moon manicure designed by Los Angeles’ MARS the Salon.

How To DIY Pastel Pink and White Reverse French Half Moon Manicure

1. File your nails into desired shape.

2. Apply base coat

3.  Apply 2 coats of white polish to nails. Try a white polish with hints of glitter for extra sparkle!

4. Apply a light/pastel pink polish from the tip to ¾ of the way down nails with a precision art blush (or nail polish remover pen) to create a half moon shape.

5. Apply top coat to seal and add shine!
