Kate Spade Manicures: How To DIY Cap-Toe Nail Art

At the Kate Spade Spring/Summer 2014 presentation at New York Fashion Week, Deborah Lippmann was inspired to create manicures as modernly fashion forward as the collection.

Inspired by a cap-toe show, the manicures at Kate Spade were an “almond-etto” shape (a cross between a stiletto and almond!) and featured three unique finishes: mateen on the base, shimmer on the tip, and crème in between the two.

How To DIY A Cap-Toe Manicure

Step 1: Prep nails with Gel Lab Base Coat.

Step 2: Apply 2 coats of Pseudo Silk Kimono, a milky alabaster white with a unique matteen finish (launching November 2013).

Step 3: Paint just the tip of each nail with Bad Moon Rising, a pewter shimmer (launching October 2013).

Step 4: Pain a thin stripe of a bright color nail polish below the pewter tip.
