Nail art is (still) having a moment. And, if the Spring/Summer 2014 runways are an indication, nail art isn’t going anywhere.

But why wait for spring?

Backstage at Milly, butter LONDON’s Global Colour Ambassador, Katie Jane Hughes created a bespoke half-moon manicure to compliment the ultramodern, Japanese-inspired S/S 2014 collection.

Here’s how to DIY it….

Step 1: Apply butter LONDON Nail Foundation to create a clean, nude base.

Step 2: Use butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Cotton Buds to create a half moon manicure. To more easily create the semi-circle shape, cut a piece of paper to act as your stencil and place it over your nail. (Make sure the polish is step 1 is fully dry.) Paint the white nail polish, dragging the brush from over the stencil towards your cuticle. Don’t worry about getting nail polish on your skin. Once the polish is dry, use a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover to carefully clean up your cuticle.

Step 3: Apply top coat to seal in your design.
