Connected Movie Highlights The Dark Side Of Wellness

You know the type: those who take “wellness” to the extreme such that it’s, well, anything but well.

Those who are so obsessed with eating healthfully that they’ve developed an eating disorder.

Those who are so focused on connecting to a higher power that they lose their connections with others.

Those who are so deep down the anti-aging hole that they age themselves.

Connected, a futuristic short film, shines a light on this potential dark side of our quest for wellness.

According to Vimeo, “Connected is a portrait of a woman grappling with aging, self-perception, and transformation in a technologically optimized world. Jackie (Pamela Anderson) is a burnt-out AuraCycle instructor in the midst of a midlife crisis. She’s obsessed with self-improvement podcasts (voiced by Jane Fonda), and she is soon drawn to an advanced yet enigmatic wellness spa that promises to enhance her mind, body and soul. Guided by her effortless and nubile mentor, Luna (Dree Hemingway), Jackie will give up anything to feel “connected” — to herself, to the future, and to a precarious sense of perfection.”

Watch it and see for yourself!
