Vote For The Women Before You Who Couldn’t
It’s election day and it’s not only your right to vote, it’s also your responsibility.
It wasn’t long ago that women didn’t have that right. In fact, there are women alive today (your grandmothers, perhaps) who were alive when the thought of women having the right to vote – the right to have their voices heard and respected – was something to be fought for.
Don’t take that for granted.
We live in a place and time where we get to let our voices be heard. Where we have an equal voice.
This is especially important because while we no longer need to fight for our right to vote thanks to the trailblazing women before us, the fight for gender equality is not won (yet!). There is still a lot of work to be done.
Sadly, the right to make our own healthcare choices is still up in the air. As is the fight for equal pay for equal work.
And today is the day that you get to speak up for those issues – and many more.
Women before you fought their whole lives for us to have the right to vote. Don’t take it for granted. And don’t sit out. Women around the world are depending on you.
Even cooler this election is the opportunity to vote for our first female president – something our grandmothers probably never thought possible.
It is historic. And you get to be a part of history.
So get to the polls and let your bold, beautiful, beyond the bullshit voice be heard!
