Unlike most beauty hoarders (yes, I’m embracing the fact that I’m a beauty hoarder here!), I really do like to keep it simple. With a preference for modern minimalism juxtaposed with a fondness for having every lip-gloss every created at my fingertips, staying organized is a challenge – to say the least.
Last week, though, I saw how brilliantly Schick® Intuition® Simplicity Project Organizational Expert, Jill Pollack, transformed my desk from cluttered and chaotic to chic and clean. What was once a nightmare-ish array of beauty products and papers is now a delightful desk fit for the Miss. Simplicity I am (or at least am trying to be!).
Next up on the to-do list: my bathroom!
In much the same way that my desk had become a beauty lover’s paradise overflowing with products being considered for coverage on TheBeautyBean.com, my bathroom has also become a hoarder’s haven of epic proportions – only now it’s personal.
While my desk was often cluttered with hairsprays ready for testing in high humidity, pale pink lipsticks vying to make the cut and nail polishes pining for pinkies to paint, it was always all business. Sure, I had a few favorites in the mix, but it was with an editorial eye and keen detachment that I objectively tested beauty products and sent packages of goodies to The Beauty Bean’s editors for review.
In my bathroom, however, was my personal stash – those products that, after review, I whisked away to my boudoir with high hopes of their transforming my beauty routine. Needless to say, this personal stash quickly grew wayyyy out of control.
Not quite ready to toss that transformational toner (even though I rarely even use toner) or that coral lipstick that promises to make heads turn (although I’ve yet to test its head-turning capabilities), I asked Jill to help me rein in control over my bathroom clutter and help me get organized.
