I love a good motivational message almost as much as I love a new piece of jewelry. And if you know anything about my usually monochromatic (aka black and denim) wardrobe, you know that I LOVE jewelry. Throw in a philanthropic spin and, well, I’m smitten.
Thanks to a tweet I saw last night by my friend Meri Barnes, that’s precisely what I am right now: smitten.
The new obsession: Giving Key Necklaces ($30 each).
Not only are these one-of-a-kind key necklaces like a modern take on the military dog tag necklace (and a much, much chicer one at that!), but also they are stamped with any 8-letter (or less) motivational message of your choice. Think: Faith, Inspire, Patience, Strength, Love…
The idea is that you’ll wear a key to that which you need to let into you life. Looking for love, print yours with “Love” and watch the key open you up to it and bring love into your life. It’s like a physical representation of a Gabby Bernstein-esque manifestation of the life you want.
But it gets better.
When you buy the necklace you also commit to one day giving the motivational jewelry away to someone who needs the key to unlocking that aspect of their lives too. Unlock your strength, for example, and then give it to someone else who needs to do the same. Then visit The Giving Keys and share your story to inspire others.
Pretty rad, huh?
Oh, and even better (yup, it gets even better)… they employ the homeless to give them jobs too!
So, what will you unlock in yourself and others? (I’m going with “Believe”!)
