Beauty School with Alexa Prisco Gets You Jerseylicious

Whether you’re a born and raised Jersey-girl or just infatuated with Snooki and The Situation, the garden state has certainly been the focus of much attention as of late (for better or worse).  And while the hair-poof may not work for everyone and tanning beds are a no-go (faux-tans are the way to go!) the salon culture of Jersey is nevertheless a national obsession; hence the latest reality TV craze, Jerseylicious, which follows the lives of six Jersey stylists both in and out of the salon.

Alexa Prisco, the owner and founder of The Glam Fairy, a bridal hair and makeup salon, is one of the shining stars of the hit television show. With it’s second season premiering at 8pm on Sunday, September 5th on The Style Network, Jerseylicious showcases Prisco’s unique combination of hair-raising tenacity and talent. Assuming you can’t wait until then to step into her salon (via your TV, anyway), we head to Beauty School with Alexa Prisco where she fills us in…

I first knew I wanted to be in the beauty industry when… I realized it was a place where I could follow my passion and enjoy unlimited financial success.

If I weren’t a makeup artist, I would be… an editor at a really great fashion magazine.

If I could get my beautifying hands on one person it would be… Kim Kardashian.

My beauty icon is… Jane Mansfield.

Currently I am inspired by… Andy Warhol.

My biggest beauty splurge is… Crème de La Mer.

My perfect pamper day would include…. The extra long massage and a pedicure at Bliss Spa in the W on Lexington.

The next big thing in beauty will be… Paled out skin.  I feel like this new vampire trend really inspired the look of alabaster skin, red lips and eye liner with a patent leather finish.
