Butter London Sets Spring Nail Polish Trends: Jelly Lipgloss for Nails
By Alix Turoff
Here at the Beauty Bean, nail polish is basically it’s own culture and we love trying out new colors and trends. Our latest obsession is the aptly named Jelly by Butter LONDON. With three sheer, glossy colors that look like lipgloss for your nails, the Jelly polishes can be layered over each other or over your usual less-sheer shades for a customizable look with endless possibilites. Plus, the collection is “3 Free,” meaning they contain no Formaldehyde, no toluene, and no DBP (Phthales) for a carcinogen free hand and nail care line. We took them for a test drive and found the hottest ways to rock ‘em. Here’s the scoop on the Jelly Collection.
Everything you need to know about waxing!
Chuffed: This sheer orange color provides shimmer and looks icy when layered.
Twee: The most opaque of the three, this sweet pink jelly polish made us want to bite into a juicy watermelon.
Stroppy: The most vampy of the trio, Stroppy is a grape jelly colored polish that is perfect for those girls who favor a darker pigment but don’t want to sacrifice fun, summer colors.
As with all butter LONDON polishes, the Jelly Collection is really easy to apply. The first coat is very sheer and gives nails just the right hint of tone for those of us who don’t like to go too dramatic in terms of color. The second coat gives more coverage and covers any nail problems you may want to hide. A third coat renders the color nearly opaque.
Get the perfect at-home manicure!
But don’t just stick to one color, try layering the three colors together or even pair them with a different polish altogether. We mixed one coat of Stroppy with one coat of Twee and topped it off with glitter for some serious statement making nails! Butter LONDON has 46 colors to choose from! The options are literally endless.
And, just for fun, check out the dictionary on the butter LONDON website. Each polish color is named a British slang term. Our personal favorite is “La Moss”. In London, adding the prefix “La” in front of someone’s name denotes their diva status. Kate Moss anyone?
Leave it to the Brits to get it right. Order yours now at butterlondon.com for $14 each and start experimenting for yourself!
