Sex and the City 2: How to Get The Hair Styles from the Stylist Behind the Looks!
The stars of Sex and the City epitomize style. And while it’s their fashion statements that tend to get all the attention, here at The Beauty Bean we’re all about, well, the beauty! To help you bring out your inner Carrie (or Charlotte or Miranda or Samantha), getting the hair right is as essential as rocking those sky-high Brain Attwood shoes. Using Oribe products on set, stylists created signature styles for each character so, we figured, who better to turn to than Oribe himself to let us all in on how we too can create these trendy tresses at home.
If You’re a Wanna-be Carrie:
Carrie has this beautiful wavy hair with great texture and shine. The best way to recreate her style is to curl your hair with a 2-inch-barrel curling iron and then run your fingers through your hair. Then, you can use Oribe Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray ($38), which is a great product to keep your hair from fuzzing up. You can also try Oribe Soft Lacquer Hair Spray
($42) to individualize each curl, hold your hair in place and lock in the shine.
A nail trend we’re sure Carrie would love!
If You’re a Wanna-be Charlotte:
Start out with Oribe Gel Serum ($58), run it through your hair, then turn your head upside-down to blow out your hair. Next, use large hot rollers throughout. Let them cool and brush out your hair. Next, spray hair with Oribe Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray
($38), especially in the summer when everyone is concerned with humidity. If you have thicker hair, you can finish with a bit of Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Crème
($49) to add softness, keep your hair hydrated and instill a nice sheen. Depending on how much hair you have, you could add Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Crème
all over.
If You’re a Wanna-be Miranda:
Her hair’s shorter, so it’s nice to get some fullness. There are a few ways to achieve that. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($39) is fantastic for the crown area. You also can use Oribe Rock Hard Gel
($33) to gain texture and keep it sexy. Or, you could try Oribe Soft Lacquer Hair Spray
($42) throughout, let it dry and run your fingers through your hair to create shine and separation. That’s really what you’re going for with shorter styles. Just remember to take your haircut into consideration to find the best products for the look you’re trying to achieve.
If You’re a Wanna-be Samantha:
For Samantha’s look, start out with Oribe Volumista ($29) to add body and throw in a little Oribe Gel Sérum
($58) for a sophisticated hold. The goal here is full hair, so blow your hair out and style with a curling iron. Add Oribe Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray
($38) for frizz control, then seal with a product like Oribe Soft Lacquer Hair Spray
($42), which is amazing for touchable shine. If you still want extra fullness, try Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray
($39) to add dimension.
