Gluten-Free Diet Tips With “Bachelor” Alum Tenley Molzahn

You probably know her as runner-up on Jake’s season of The Bachelor, but Tenley Molzahn is also a nutritionist and gluten-free food guru on a mission to educate.

And, well, with a lot of Beauty Beaners going gluten-free (hey, we’ve never met anyone who gave up gluten and feel worse, so maybe it’s worth a try – click here to see if you should go gluten free!), we sat down with the nutritionist and gluten-free guru to talk gluten-free diet tips!

“You might feel like it’s a huge sacrifice, but it’s one of the greatest rewards to let your body feel good…Don’t worry, it’s not the last time you’re going to have a really good sandwich. It’s just fine on the other side,” says Tenley. Well, if you have her tips anyway!

Eating out? Before hitting your favorite restaurant, call and see if they have a gluten-free menu (more restaurants than you might imagine do!), if not, ask for a meat, poultry or fish dish to be prepared without sauce and dress it yourself with olive oil and lemon. Also, be sure to avoid soups, which often have hidden gluten!

Gluten-Free Avocado Pesto

1 clove garlic, chopped
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 ripe avocado
1/4 cup chopped basil
1/4 teaspoon salt

Over medium heat, sauté he garlic in the olive oil until fragrant and slightly browned. Transfer the garlic and the olive oil to a food processor. Add remaining ingredients and pulse until smooth.

Serve over gluten-free rice pasta or brown rice.
