Inspired by a “60s/70s, beachy, downtown New Yorker gone surfing,” Timo Weiland’s Spring/Summer 2012 “fresh off the beach” style was paired with hairstyles crafted by Ouidad that ranged from loosely braided long styles to twisted buns and chignons. How To DIY The Timo Weiland Spring/Summer 2012 Knotted Chignon
Deep condition hair prior to styling for smooth, silky hair that’s easy to work with (this is especially important for all you straight-haired girls out there!) before prepping hair with Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel ($38) to calm frizz and tame fly-aways and blow-drying smooth.
Split hair in two at the nape of your neck and gently tie together in a knot. Either leave as is (for a look like the image on the left), securing with bobby pins, or pin the knot up in a twisted bun and securing with bobby pins (for a look like the image on the right). Finish with a light spray of Ouidad Styling Mist ($16).
