Sundresses For Work and Play, Go Graphic With Dusen Dusen
There’s really nothing quite like popping on the perfect sundress to put a smile on a girl’s face. This spring expect more options than ever when it comes to flirty little frocks. There will be ‘90s florals, edgy zippers, ‘40s seaside, minimalist, cotton shirtdresses, rompers and more to tempt you. Our decision on which would be our first dress of the season was made easier when we discovered the young brand Dusen Dusen.
The perfect exercise when you can’t hit the gym.
Spring 2010 marks Ellen Van Dusen’s first official collection, although you may have already seen her wares at select stores like Duo in New York. After interning with fashion industry big shots Norma Kamali and Proenza Schouler, Van Dusen transitioned into designing her own line. Her designs definitely take aspects of her former employers’ design philosophies. Her dresses are fit-conscious while flattering a lot of body types, similar to Kamali’s ideal, while the fun and varied prints hint at Jack McCollough and Lazaro Herndandez’s lighthearted view on fashion.
Do bulky water bottles keep you from bringing a reusable bottle? We’ve got the solution.
While Dusen Dusen “was created for fun times, good people and to espouse confidence into all who wear it,” according to Van Dusen, she has her mind on some more important matters as well: all of Dusen Dusen’s pieces are produced locally. They are hand-printed in Greenpoint, hand-cut in Bushwick and sewn in a factory in Sunset Park. We are always happy to support local businesses, especially when it has us looking better than ever in an adorable dress.
The perfect pop of color for any outfit.
We’ll be wearing this graphic printed Zip Me Dress with a blazer and heels for work. On the weekend, it is perfect with a relaxed pair of Keds, a cardigan and a bright tote. The shape is covered up enough for the office and fun enough for play, the perfect springtime dress.
