Beauty Blogging Junkie Goes Bare: Amber Katz Gets Real with Makeup Free Mondays
By Amber Katz, Beauty Blogging Junkie
As much as I adore makeup and playing with it, I got very used to wearing none for Makeup Free Mondays shockingly easily.
I have to disclose that I do have lash extensions, which does help me feel a bit more “done,” even when I haven’t “done” one thing to my face. But even with the extensions, on my usual “no-makeup days” I was still wearing concealer, a bit of foundation, some blush and tinted balm.
When trying Makeup Free Mondays for the first time Last week, though, I went to several beauty meetings and to work at the financial company at which I freelance rocking zero cosmetics and it felt pretty fabulous. I was able to shave ten minutes off of my getting ready time in the morning.

I also noticed that once I got used to revealing the straight-up real me, other people barely reacted. A couple people mentioned that I wasn’t wearing makeup, and I did feel a bit self-conscious about a couple of breakouts I had on my cheeks from a facial that I didn’t react well to the other day, but, all in all, it was far easier and it allowed me to focus on other things (like my work!) not having to reapply lipstick, etc. I would definitely do it again.
