Boston Salon Spotlight: Salon Capri

Located in the new Legacy Place in Dedham, MA, Salon Capri’s newest location outside of Boston is luxurious to say the least. Unlike most places you frequent in the city, Salon Capri, with it’s black and white décor and family business style, is a beautiful and soothing place to relax and be pampered. From the manicurists to the hair stylists, everyone was attentive to details and really open to listening to what we wanted from our treatment. Bottom line: you will be treated like a VIP from the moment you walk through the door.

7 tips for whiter teeth!

We suggest you take a day away from the city and treat yourself to a manicure ($20) and pedicure ($45) with Tristan, like we did! With a wide selection of OPI polishes at our dying-to-be-painted fingertips, we opted for Ogre the Top Blue ($4.96) from OPI’s new Shrek Collection. While Tristan, our favorite nail tech at Salon Capri, said the new collection has been really popular, we were the first ones bold enough to choose that particular hue. For our pedicure, we were particularly impressed with the pedicure basin. (We know, a bizarre thing to be impressed by, but, what can we say, we’re beauty editors!)  Instead of the traditional jets used in most nail salons, their basins have jets that use air bubbles, not water. Whereas most jets use pipes that hold onto old water and flush back into the basin for the next customer, air bubbles are more sanitary, less noisy and softer, making for a relaxing (and clean) pedicure.

A healthy and easy summer recipe!

While blue polish is certainly part of a new summer look, for those of you looking for a more permanent summer style shift, a sexy, summer hair style is the way to go and Salon Capri is a great place to take the plunge (no matter how deep it may be). With a great eye for color and loads of experience, we confidently put our hair in Jamie’s hands. She helped steer us in the right direction and was knowledgeable as to what colors would work best with our skin tone and what cuts would be most flattering with our facial structure. Plus, she was really easy to talk to, and, let’s be honest, communication is key when dealing with dye and scissors!

Next time we’re in the market for a manicure or thinking of transforming our tresses, we’ll be back.
