Lash Extensions by Albina
Not all of us are blessed with long, luscious, flirty lashes. For some, a Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler ($19) and a few coats of mascara do the trick. For others, though, (ourselves included) there just isn’t a tube with enough length, volume or curl to truly satisfy. Not all hope is lost, however. Instead, a visit to Albina Spa in New York City for lash extensions has come to our rescue.
We arrived at Albina Spa for our lash extensions with low expectations. In the past, our experiences with faux lashes have been less than stellar. Too often, too much glue is used leaving our lids heavy and our eyes weighed down. We were delightfully surprised when Albina told us she was finished and that we could open our eyes and felt, well, nothing. We almost didn’t believe that our lashes were done. That is, until we saw the results. And saw them we did. Our normally sparse lashes were long and lovely.
Drugstore mascaras that will give the results you want!
Even more impressive, though, was how natural they looked. These are not your local drag queen’s fake lashes (not that we don’t love those too)! Rather, these weightless lashes are individually selected to blend with your (not-so-)present lashes and bonded one at a time to your existing hairs for a natural look that had numerous people commenting on how great our eyes looked, all without even realizing they were not quite au-natural. We felt no need to correct them. (It’s not lying if we just omit the truth, right?)
Unique beauty tools you’ll want!
While the compliments were nice and the ability to cut quite a few steps from our normal morning routine was better (curling and mascara were no longer necessary), the best part of the lash extensions was that we woke up every morning looking well rested and bright eyed. So long went the mornings of trying to fake looking awake or the days spent at the beach either without mascara or constantly worrying about it running down our faces. Instead, we looked like we were born with the lashes we had once only dreamed of but now were blessed with, even if only for the four weeks they’re meant to last.
Lash extensions are available worldwide (for all you non-NYers) but, if you happen to be lucky enough to be in New York during Spa Week (April 12-18), the normally $180 service can be yours for just $50 at Albina Spa! For other spas across the country participating in Spa Week (and offering lash extensions!), see the full directory at Spaweek.com.
