The SPA at Andaz Wall Street: The Best 15 Minutes of Your Day
Andaz hotels offer a different kind of hotel experience. They call it a kaleidoscope of culture embedded in their walls; we call it a creative take on the things people actually want and need. Instead of obnoxious check-in desks, you meet a friendly concierge in the lobby who hands you your key. Instead of harsh fluorescent lighting in your room, enjoy different settings for “work” and “relaxation.” The entire vibe is comfortable and luxurious without an ounce of pretention.
The same holds true for the SPA at the Andaz Wall Street. Their newest location, which is nestled in between the Stock Exchange, Saint Paul’s Chapel and Water Street, features an amazing spa that in the true spirit of the financial district, aims to get you the most for your time and money. According to Spa Manager Holly Byerly, “All treatments at Spa at Andaz are customized, time efficient and results oriented.” So, take advantage of your lunch hour and make Gordon Gekko proud.
If 20 minutes a day is all you have, 20 is all you need for this compact workout.
The spa, which opened this February, offers Shares and Stocks menus, with the idea of giving you the best 15 minutes of your day. The Shares last under an hour, while Stocks last an hour or 90 minutes. It’s up to you how much you want to “invest” in your service. For the full “time is money treatment,” opt for the Lunch To-Go, which includes a take out lunch prepared by Chef Maximo from the Andazs’ Wall & Water Restaurant, suit touch-up, shoeshine and complimentary copy of The Wall Street Journal.
A glimpse at a personal journey to let body issues go.
When we met with Byerly for a treatment, she recommended her favorite treatment, the Luzern Facial with an Oxygen boost. The treatment room had the casual modern feel of the hotel, with dark wood paneling and calming music and lighting. Byerly expertly cleansed and exfoliated our tired, dry skin with Luzern’s unique line of products, which they use for all of their facials and Byerly swears by personally.
The New York-based company sources all of its materials from Switzerland, where they mix Medical Grade actives with Bio Swiss Eco-Certified Extracts, meaning they are 100% organic, 80% active, and 100% amazing for your skin. The results are there too! Our skin glowed all week and was noticeably softer to the touch. The added Oxygen boost gave a refreshing vitality that made us instantly look awake, even when we weren’t. Our favorite trick was when Byerly used the Oxygen wand on our lips to make them extra smooth and extra plumped, an unexpected and wonderful side effect.
Andaz already has locations in Liverpool, West Hollywood and San Diego, but keep an eye out for expansions to 5th Ave in NY, Amsterdam and Costa Rica. In the meantime, start deciding how you’re going to spend the best 15 minutes of your day.
