Exercise Bikes Hotter Than Ever With Infrared Lights
What if you could make your 30 minutes on the stationary bike exponentially more effective? You would do it, right? Well, you can, if you’re fortunate enough to live near a PhysioRED machine, a bike that combines infrared light technology with a reclined spin bike for a workout out that does to cycling what Bikram did to yoga.
See what yoga guru Tara Stiles told The Beauty Bean.
Like biking in a tubular heat machine, the PhysioRED surrounds you with 2800 watts of infrared light (a natural and safe light that’s actually used to warm newborns) that can penetrate your skin up to 3 inches in order to elevate your core body temperature and pump up your heart rate for a cardiovascular workout that will have your metabolism sky-rocketing. And although the heat is intense, don’t worry. The machine’s high-tech system will adjust the resistance in order to ensure that your heart rate stays at 75% of your maximum, so you won’t overstrain yourself.
Should you stretch after a workout?
As you sweat profusely (and you will!), you will excrete toxins from your body for a holistic body detoxification, while you simultaneously improve your cardiovascular fitness, strengthen your legs and glutes, tone your abs and even improve your posture. And, unlike with traditional spin bikes, PhysioRED’s reclined seating and ergonomic design promote a biomechanically correct motion that relieves pressure from your hips, knees and joints for a workout comfortable for bodies of all shapes and sizes. The warmth of the infrared will also help to relax stiff muscles, alleviate arthritis pains, soothe muscle spasms and even reduce back pain.
Even better than the killer workout, though, is the machine’s multimedia capabilities which make time fly. The LED screen not only tracks your speed, time, distance and heart rate (and adjusts your resistance accordingly), but also allows you to watch a DVD. Just pop in an episode of 24 (like we did when we made a visit to Dasha Wellness) and you’ll be bummed when your thirty minutes are up – and Jack Bauer’s fate is still unclear (as usual).
