If you thought your grandma-like hearing problems from your iPod were the only downsides of technological advances, think again. Thanks to our constantly typing away and crunching up our fingers to email and text, carpel tunnel, tendonitis and general digit discomfort are on the rise.

1. Place right hand straight in front of you, like you are giving someone a high five. Then, turn hand clockwise so that fingers are pointing down, and wrist is up. Hold onto your fingers with your left hand and pull fingers away from your wrist, creating space at the base of your hand and lower forearm. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat on the left side, turning your hand counterclockwise instead.
