Put the ‘Sport’ Back in Sports Bra
Finding the perfect sports bra can be the difference between your run feeling like a “walk in the park” and like a painful ride on a bumpy rollercoaster. Assuming you prefer the former, (and that you hope to avoid saggy boobs – or at least ones any more saggy than nature already affords,) finding the right sports bra is paramount. But between inconsistent sizes across brands and various materials wearing differently, finding a supportive (and not circulation stopping) sports bra can be challenging, at best.

To help you pound the pavement, not your breasts, we have 4 simple tips for finding the perfect fitting sports bra!
Take a look around. The bottom band of the bra should be snug and even all the way around your body. Make sure it doesn’t ride up in the back (a sign the bra is too small) or buckle away from your ribs in the front (a sign it’s too big).
Strap test. Place two fingers under the top of the straps on your shoulders. You should have enough room for both fingers to fit, but the straps should snuggly fit against your shoulder after removal.
Arm control. Standing in place, vigorously move your arms as if you’re running. If the bra moves or gapes in anyway, it’s likely too big.
Chafe challenge. Take a look in the mirror as you jump and jog in place. Be sure you don’t see or feel movement of either your breasts or the bra. Be sure to move your arms as well in order to check to see if the straps stay in place and if your feel any points of chafing. If anything irritates you now, it will only be worse a few miles in.
