Beauty Tips: 3 Easy Ways To Reduce The Appearance of Wrinkles

By Alexis Wolfer

Whether you’re 25 or 65 you’ve certainly had a moment (likely in the harsh lighting of a department stores’ beauty department) where you notice that your wrinkles have seemingly magnified overnight (and no, you’re sure it’s not just the magnifying mirror). Those laugh lines are suddenly permanent (no, you’re not laughing!) and those circles are, well, no longer your under eye area’s biggest concern (heck, concealer was easy!). Before you break down in tears or start contemplating more drastic measures, though, we turned to Clarins Celebrity Beauty Artist, Pati Dubroff, for her top 3 tips sure to help you reduce your wrinkles to mere morsels!

6 winter beauty blunders!

Powder Sparingly. According to Pati, it’s best to not over powder the skin. Try using blotting papers to keep shine under control, but let the skin glow and breathe naturally since too much powder can make the skin look dull and chalky.

Highlight Strategically. It’s important to keep the center of the face more matte and to highlight the highest bones, like the tops of the cheekbones. Use a luminizer, like RMS’s Living Luminizer ($38) or, for a less shimmery look, YSL’s Touche Éclat ($40) to add radiance to your cheek and brow bones.

How to figure out your skin type!

Hide Wrinkles. Pati tells us this new product from Clarins is like magic. Mix their new Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate ($32) into your foundation (to give skin a flawless, even tone, smooth lines and wrinkles and help your make-up stay on longer); dab it on the t-zone and around the sides of the nose, over makeup (to lessen redness, control shine and fill in lines and pores); apply it around the edges of lips (to fill in lines and hold lipstick in place) and add it to your eye cream (to diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles for more youthful looking eyes)!
