DIY Acne Mask For Dry Skin

Skin Dry AND Breaking Out? Make this DIY Acne Mask For Dry Skin.

By Alexis Wolfer

When it feels like the skincare gods are frowning on you (or you just overdid it with the retinols/sun exposure/blemish-busters) and your skin is both breaking out and dry, this is the DIY acne mask you need for both unclogged and hydrated skin.

I, for one, just made this DIY acne mask for dry skin this weekend (what can I say: sometimes even the beauty expert overdoes it with the Retin-A!) and was reminded why I love it so much: because it really does do it all.

So next time your skin is both dry and breaking out, make this DIY acne mask for dry skin. It’s packed with raw honey for its hydrating and anti-bacterial properties, apple cider vinegar to detoxify and shrink pores, and Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay to deeply cleanse, all mixed with full fat Greek yogurt to balance bacteria, calm inflammation, dissolve dead skin cells, and moisturize. The result: skin that’s both hydrated and detoxified, leaving your with fewer breakouts and skin that’s beautifully hydrated (but not clogged!).

DIY Acne Mask For Dry Skin

1 Tbsp Full Fat Greek Yogurt
1/2 tsp Raw Honey
1/2 tsp Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay
1/2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar

Combine all ingredients until smooth. Apply a thin layer to your face, neck, and décolletage, avoiding your eye area. Let the mask dry for 10-20 minutes. (A slight pulsing sensation is normal but if you feel any burning or pain, you should remove it immediately.) Rinse off with warm water and a washcloth.

For added exfoliation, I like to remove this DIY acne mask for dry skin with Goldfaden MD Doctor’s Scrub.

Note: Do this mask at night, before bed, as it may temporarily leave your face red and or blotchy (it’s from the increase in circulation, which is both healing and detoxifying).
