Beauty oils are one of the most versatile products out there. There truly is an oil for every beauty issue. We picked out a few common beauty woes and found the best oils to combat them. Read on for our go-to oils for body, face, hair and hands!
Body: Dr. Hauschka Lemongrass Body Oil ($28.95)
Even the fittest of girls can have cellulite. If you’re looking to disguise yours, this is what you need. No gimmicks, no empty promise, just a high quality body oil that will firm and fortify the skin to diminish the appearance of cellulite. The jojoba oil, lemongrass and misteltoe formula work together to tighten and revive skin. Lemon peel extract strengthens connective tissue while the light and refreshing smell offers the perfect pick-me-up! Rub Dr. Hauschka’s body oil into the skin after a shower while the skin is most receptive to oil. We even suggest bringing it with you for your next massage and asking your masseuse to substitute this for their usual oil!
Face: DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, Facial Cleanser ($28)
We know what you’re thinking…Won’t using oil on my face lead to unsightly breakouts?! Not DHC’s Deep Cleansing facial cleanser. The vitamin E and olive oil blend adds moisture to the skin to prevent dryness while this cleanser works to unclog pores, remove makeup and any excess oil. The water-soluble formula makes it super easy to rinse off so you won’t be left with a greasy residue! We like to apply this using a cotton ball to remove our makeup after a long day.
Hair: Josie Maran Argan Hot Oil Self Heating Hair Treatment ($36)
This stuff is the real deal. We promise that no matter how dry your hair is, Josie Maran’s hot oil treatment will leave it smoother and shinier than you ever thought possible. This is perfect for any of you ladies who color your hair or straighten, blow dry or apply heat regularly. According to research, the vitamin E rich argan oil formula will reduce hair breakage by 79% with repeated use, leaving locks up to 4x stronger. Studies show that the vitamin E in argan oil can actually reverse damage caused by heat treatment used in styling. After you wash your hair, apply the contents of one capsule while hair is still wet. The oil will self heat to the perfect temperature while it seals in oil and shine. Leave on for 1-3 minutes (or even longer for extra benefits). We actually left the treatment in and wrapped our hair up in a shower cap while watching an episode of Girls before rinsing thoroughly!
Hands: Moroccan Oil Hand Cream ($28/$18)
Nothing is worse than dry, cracking hands, and in the winter, this is a very real beauty trauma. We’ve been fans of Morrocanoil’s Oil Treatment forever so when we heard about the hand cream, we had to try it. This high concentrated cream is basically sucked up by dry, thirsty hands. The argan oil, cocoa, shea and avocado butter formula is packed with antioxidants and works to repair dry skin but also protect it from future blunders. The beautiful, light fragrance is an added bonus! The small size is perfect to leave in your glove compartment, gym back or cubicle!
Nails: Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil ($8)
Even though irritated, dry cuticles can ruin an otherwise perfect manicure, many of us still don’t care for them the way they deserve to be cared for. Caring for your cuticles kind of feels like cutting your own hair, something most of us like to leave for the professionals. There’s no reason for this! Essie’s Apricot Cuticle oil makes it so easy to have nice, well groomed cuticles. Just massage the cuticle oil into nails twice a day to soften cuticles and make them easier to remove. The lightweight blend will calm irritation, soothe nail beds and give the nails an overall healthier look.
