When you want a quick breakfast and a simple greens and fruit smoothie just won’t fill you up for hours, it’s time to try this superfood smoothie bowl this. It is literally so thick you can eat it will a spoon and it is jam packed with super-foods that will keep you feeling full for hours on end.
You can switch up what exactly you add depending on the seasons, what you feel like, and what you have on hand (so don’t worry if you don’t have all these ingredients in your kitchen, this long list is just for inspiration). Just get started with what you do have and over time build up your superfood stash in your kitchen. Plus, buying them all at once it way too expensive.
This particular recipe is super-packed on purpose, not to overwhelm you but rather to inspire you. This way, you can rearrange based on what you have and add in your own super ingredients!
So, without further ado, my favorite superfood bowl recipe:
Superfood Smoothie Bowl Recipe
For the smoothie…
1/2 Sambazon Unsweetened Acai Pack (it’s great for your skin!)
1 full handful of spinach
1/2 cup water or coconut milk (add more or less, as needed, for desired thickness)
1/3 cup wild frozen blueberries
1/2 tbs Ashwagandha (super herb great stress reliever)
1 Tbsp Camu Camu (super high in vitamin C)
A bit of cinnamon to taste (yummy)
Pinch of vanilla
Pinch of sea salt (balances the sweetness)
Stevia, to taste
1 Tbsp Slippery Elm Powder (optional great for digestive health)
2 Tbsp hemp seeds (easily digestible protein & makes it creamy)
1 Tbsp Spirulina (high in minerals and protein)
Fresh or powdered turmeric, for anti-inflammatory benefits
For the toppings…
Raw buckwheat groats
Any nuts of choice or a dollop of nut butter
Toss all the smoothie ingredients into the blender (or Vitamix) and blend until smooth, adding more or less liquid to create desired consistency. Pour into a bowl, add toppings of choice, and enjoy slowly with a spoon.
